A din of celebration,
Pervades the air,
But I am unaware.
Back turned to The Waterfront.
Voices floating all around.
Free of mind, free of flight.
Lost in a thought, I know that she wrote.
A drink in hand, gazing upwards.
She descends starborn from the edge.
'Stay black, Endless Night,' she whispers.
Turning an embrace to open lilting stars.
I'm wrapped in envy of all that eclipses.
She disappears into the sky, I'm emptied.
'Stay black, Endless Night,'
I thought, as I drifted off.
